OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapists (OTR) and occupational therapy assistants (COTA) are therapists who utilize evidence-based practice to develop client-centered interventions to promote independence with occupations. In OT, occupations are defined as anything that occupies your time such as: dressing, feeding, writing, work, school, and leisure activities. By utilizing client-centered goals, occupational therapists focus therapy on what matters to you!

At Advanced Manual Therapy, our occupational therapists and COTAs address a variety of diagnoses and injuries that may result in difficulties or limitations with occupational performance. What sets our therapists apart from others is the use of manual therapy techniques incorporated with traditional client centered interventions to reach your goals for optimal occupational performance.

Not only do our occupational therapists treat a variety of client populations, but they also specialize in hand therapy. Hand therapy is a concentrated area of rehabilitation that involves treating individuals with limitations affecting the hands and upper extremity. Becoming a hand therapist requires advanced studies as well as experience with providing preventative care, postoperative or conservative rehabilitation, and ergonomic interventions.
